Arrived at this waystation to find a mature milkweed plant in bloom right next to the stop sign! Added a few plantings next to the cattle guard near the entrance to the wildlife refuge. Either the goat's head thorns are less of an issue in the Spring, or I have had good luck so far, but I am going the opposite direction of Alejandro, so perhaps my flat tires are yet to come.
