Montana Natural History Center

The first stop on today’s ride was the Montana Natural History Center, home to a sizable stand of showy milkweed as well as a native pollinator garden. This was my first time seeing a milkweed seed pod open… the fluff attached to the seeds is very soft and buoyant— apparently they were once used as filling for pillows and life jackets. After gathering some seeds and recording a small piece of music, I continued south to Florence and MPG Ranch.
