Wind has been a constant companion, and sometimes adversary, on this journey. It is particularly strong and consistent along the Columbia River Gorge. After a blustery crossing of the Beverly Railroad Bridge along the Palouse-to-Cascades trail, I came across a grain elevator that said "Monarch" on the side. This seemed like an auspicious place to sow milkweed. I have been humming Alejandro's song from the Tieton waystation as I journey North and East, so here I have combined a field recording with my own wind-powered interpretation of Alejandro's theme.
