Flathead Conservation District

Headed north from Hurst Flower Meadow to the Flathead Conservation District Demonstration Garden. This is a wonderful public space dedicated to showcasing ways in which local property owners can help protect their soil and water resources while making their land more attractive and easier to manage.

Part of this garden is devoted to native pollinator-friendly plants, and Samantha and Mikaela from the Conservation District were nice enough to prepare a large area for showy milkweed. Hopefully the spring and summer will find it buzzing with bees and butterflies… another small victory for native flora and fauna!
