Returned to the Columbia Falls community garden almost 3 years after the original planting. Sadly, no sign of milkweed... added a few new seeds in an unused corner of one of their pollinator plots, and recorded an improvisation. Initially, I tried to play a fingerstyle piece, but a loud lawnmower kept interrupting. However, the sounds of the lawnmower suggested a B phrygian scale, so rather than fight the external noise I decided to incorporate it into the improvisation-- and I opted to use a pick for a bit more volume. Hoping for a peaceful return to the garden and some budding milkweed in the spring!
