Got to camp after dark again following another day plagued by mechanical issues. I think that I put way too much weight on my rear rack, and it is possible that I have a broken axle in my rear wheel. Packing a 6 string banjo certainly did not help with the weight issues, but it is a fun instrument to play and it cuts over the noise of the wind, the waves, and the almost omnipresent sound of automobiles.
This morning after waking, I went for a dip in the Columbia River and found Alejandro's waystation here: a quiet little cove on the riverbank, full of blooming milkweed. I decided to follow Alejandro's cue and do my own version of Woody Guthrie's "Roll on, Columbia"
