The GPS Coordinates led me to the shore of Moses Lake, and although there was a lot of milkweed on the ride down to the lake, I did not see any at the waystation site. This particular area is a popular playground for off-road vehicles, the air thick with dust and the smell of single-stroke engine exhaust. I made only a field recording here, as the noise from countless dune buggies, dirt bikes, and ATVs provided plenty of sonic experience. I sowed milkweed in 3 places: next to a sign, near a marsh about 20' behind the sign, and near an old concrete barrier right next to the marsh. I wonder what the auditory perception of a monarch butterfly is like, and whether this summer party scene bothers them at all
