Greetings from Michigan, migratory corridor of the eastern monarchs (and my home state)! Here in Metro Detroit, my mom (aka Echinacea Dream) has a great patch of swamp milkweed in her backyard for the monarchs. We took a trip to her favorite local park to spread some of the seeds collected from her milkweed plants. In this first location, we sowed some next to a fellow swamp milkweed in a thicket of grasses and flowers (it's best to group the milkweed together so the caterpillars don't have to travel too far for the next plant). The audio is a little ditty on the instrument I have on hand this trip: the treble viola da gamba.
