After 3 days of climbing and wind, it was nice to have a smooth, downhill day toward Yakima. Stopped by a big patch of milkweed along Hwy 97. The plants were in full bloom and buzzing with bees and butterflies, but no sign of monarchs. I didn't plant here because it seemed like nature was taking good care of things (also half of my milkweed seeds blew out of my pocket while crossing the windy Columbia River yesterday), but I played a bit of trumpet for the plants and rolled on down the hill.
