Lake Koocanusa

In the middle of a long, hot, dry, hilly trek up Highway 37 above Lake Koocanusa, I came to this spring trickling down from the rock wall above the highway. The running water created a little mini-ecosystem of mosses, shrubs, and deciduous trees. The abundant sun and water will hopefully make this a perfect place to sow milkweed!
